Mausoleums are external buildings erected as a reminder or monument and within it lies an interment space or a burial chamber of people or a person that has passed away. It can be classified as a tomb or the tomb may lie within the mausoleum itself and may have a chapel when it is a Christian mausoleum.

These structures are mostly constructed for deceased leaders of nations, personalities of importance, and wealthy individuals. An example of these would be The pyramids of Egypt, Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, The Taj Mahal, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, Mausoleum of Maussollos, Abraham Lincoln’s tomb, and many more similar structures across the globe.

These mausoleums were constructed in the memory of great, idealistic and historic people. Since they have long passed away, many organizations and groups have taken the responsibility to maintain and preserve these monumental structures. Most if these organizations are non-profitable and encourage others to join their cause in preserving and protecting these historical structures.

Other than the preservation of these structures, there are also companies these days that are offering to construct them for anyone who wishes to be entombed in a mausoleum or be remembered by with a monument.
